The Maths Zone Count on US Challenge Apps

Two years ago we built Windows software that played the GridLines Geometry game. At the time people asked if we could make a phone app, but it wasn’t possible for us at that point. Fast forward to this summer and we have taken responsibility for all of the management of the challenge again. We are replacing the 24(R)Game with a similar game we have used for just as long, called Target maths, created by Ian Ward. The puzzles still feature four numbers that all have to be used once and once only with any arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) but now you have to make a target which is also shown on the card. There are five different sets with single digit numbers, double digits, fractions and decimals, negatives and algebraic expressions, all of which are colour coded and have three different levels of dicculty. I have produced Windows software to make this playable in classrooms and also allow teachers to prduce sets of puzzles for display or printing. Learning how to do this, made me come back to the app idea. So, now there is an Android App, available through the play store for Target Maths and also for GridLines Geometry. As a bonus, I created Windows software and an Android app for the two dice probability games that make the first round. The established Hedgehog game and a new game called COU Shut-the-Box. This app is called COU Probability Games. Target maths and GridLines are copyright, so they are paid for at £1.99. However we will distribute licence codes to all signed up schools so they can be used for free.
